Life is but a dream, a journey we take one day at a time. Here I am sharing my journey, my experiences and my story with you all. But before I can share with you all about what’s to come and where I’m going, I must share who I am, where I’m from and where I’ve been. I hope you get to know me well through this post and feel inclined to join me for this Blogger’s journey from here on out.
I was born and raised in Arizona, where I lived until I completed my Bachelors’ of Science in Social Justice at Arizona State University. I always felt deeply connected to my hometown of Mesa, Az., as it is the land of my ancestors and heritage. I loved the desert heat and sunny summer days, but as I grew older I knew my life was meant to be lived elsewhere. So, in early 2015, I moved out to Los Angeles, CA to find myself and a begin a new chapter of my life.
I’ve always felt as though I had two great loves in my life – arts & culture, and social justice & activism. Although I always grew up thinking I would become an actress or singer, my journey in academia took me another route – towards social justice and human rights. I became passionate about becoming a change-maker in the world, fighting for the voiceless and working towards a more just future. However, after working in non-profits in Arizona, I knew that I wanted a more fast-paced and creative career. I am now learning how to blend my two passions together so that I can live a more fulfilling life.
Since moving to Los Angeles, I have dived into the world of fashion – I’ve interned for a leading Red Carpet designer, worked at a top Sustainable Fashion brand, and partnered with a friend to support her Start-up. As a Graduate student at the University of Southern California, I am now working on a Masters’ Degree in Social Entrepreneurship. I want to one day create a social venture that brings style, sustainability, and culture together.
Here on my blog, I hope to share much more than just my life and stories. I want to give my readers tips on how to be stylish, while making the most ethical and sustainable choices. I want to share my adventures as I globetrot around the world. I hope to share lessons I’ve learned and create a community for those who share my passions and can relate to my story. Thank you for joining me, I can’t wait to see where this leads.
Con Mucho Amor,
